Without a doubt, the Deck at the Toowoomba Golf Club at Middle Ridge is the perfect spot to relax over a glass of wine while you drink in the magnificent view of the Clubs lush tree-lined greens. This really is prime dining real estate!

A sun soaked table on the Deck is the perfect spot to try the Clubs new Casual Spring Menu where simple fare, maximum flavour and freshness is the inspiration from Head Chef Adam Hamilton.

For lunch there’s a 200g Rump Steak grilled to perfection with chips and salad for just $20, an enormous helping of smokey BBQ Ribs for $26 or the Cubano Sandwich (my favourite) with fried pickle for $18 – just to name a few.

If you are serious about settling in for the afternoon though we suggest you order a Menu Tasting Board ($55) that serves 4 people with a selection of mouth-watering menu favourites. Add a bottle of wine or a few cold beers and your afternoon is looking decidedly perfect!

The dinner menu offers more a la carte style choices like Strawberry & Thyme Lamb Rump w roquette, fennel and walnut salad ($30) and Lime and Cracked Pepper Salmon w heirloom tomato, target beet salad & lime beurre blanc ($26) Oh and don’t forget to leave room for dessert. The Davidson Plumb Cheesecake is a must!

During our visit we were also treated to a “Taste Test” of the function menu by Head Chef Adam who is highly dedicated to his craft. I have to say there were moments of food greatness in this sampling, in particular the crusted Snapper (fresh in that morning from Stoneys, Toowoomba’s famed Fishmonger) this was perfectly prepared.  We were also wowed by the Wagyu Beef. This kind of creativity and dedication to quality on the plate is such a credit to Chef Adam.

Our verdict: Top spot for casual weekend dining!
