Taste Test

A Tapestry of flavours

|
On a mission to try Tapestry Bars much celebrated casual dining menu I took some boys with serious appetites along yesterday for lunch and left with a whole new appreciation for burgers… & beer for that matter. Now I must admit, burgers are not normally my thing, but after checking out the menu my tastebuds were certainly tempted by the description of the gourmet burgers on offer at Tapestry. Our party ordered three different burgers to share including “The Parmi Burger” (buttermilk crumbed chicken schnitzel, tomato sugo (Italian tomato sauce) shaved leg ham, mozzarella, basil and salad greens). The chicken breast was tender and perfectly cooked in a light buttery crumb and the housemade sugo rich and tangy. A perfect complement to the lashings of melted mozzarella.Tapestry A“The New Yorker” burger was the second to arrive and being a mushroom fan I was keen to try this one (Grilled beef patty, sautéed mushroom, smoked ham, Gouda cheese, rocket, tomato, pickled red onion and truffled mayo) this was demolished in quick time with the combination of the perfectly cooked beef, mushroom and truffled mayo just heavenly, and my fav of the day. The last burger on our list was “The Osbourne” (Grilled beef patty, maple bacon, slaw, bourbon & onion jam, Gouda cheese & potato crisps. Now this burger was HUGE, seriously it was an effort just to get your mouth around it, but it was also delicious. The fresh made slaw, beef, bacon and spicy bourbon laced jam made this one a big hit with the boys, they loved it! Tapestry is the perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. It is family friendly too, particularly for a lunch time sitting I think. Not only were these burgers gourmet, handcrafted and delicious, at the moment you can tuck into one of these beauties with a side of rustic fries for just $15 (lunchtime special) now that’s value for sure.Tapestry DTo wash down the burgers we chose an ice cold Stone & Wood Pacific ale from Tapestry’s extensive & ever changing craft beer list. In fact, we enjoyed a fabulous introduction to beer appreciation with knowledgeable Bar Supervisor Courtney…this is a top spot!
