The views from the cellar door over the Singing Lake are spectacular and there is plenty of space for children to run around. They can also say hello to the winery’s miniature horses and to our Hereford cattle, if they are in the mooed – not a typo – attempted humour.

The Swigmore Hall- the winery’s concert hall – is home to a series of monthly concerts every year. Importantly, for winter (and sometimes summer), the Swigmore Hall has heating as well as seating. Concerts for 2015 will include choral music, jazz, chamber music, a piano recital, an orchestral concert, opera and a brass band day. For details of the concert programme go to Concerts.
We produce fine Verdelho, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our wine is made at our winery from grapes grown in our cool climate vineyards at an elevation of about 950 metres. We are particularly known for our Verdelho and Chardonnay.
Our first 3 vintages of Verdelho won the Trophy for Queensland’s Best White Wine. Since then they have regularly won regular gold medals. Our Verdelho has been served at a formal banquet for the Queen, at banquets in State and Federal parliament and our 2009 Verdelho was selected as the Queensland Parliament's 150th Anniversary White Wine.
We are just about to release our Verdelho 2014 Also new this year has been a luscious dessert style Late Harvest Verdelho 2014.
We are one of the few small wineries in Australia to have won a national trophy at a national show for a champion wine. This is effectively a 'Best in Australia' award. We did it for the first time with our Reserve Chardonnay 2002 which won the Trophy for the Best Chardonnay in the Royal Queensland Show 2004 and then again with our Sparkling Chardonnay 2008 which won the Trophy for the Champion Sparkling Wine in the Australian Small Winemakers Show in 2010.
We have produced gold medal and trophy winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot and we have recently added Pinot Noir to the red varieties that we planted initially.
For the Cellar Door are Saturdays and Sundays 10.00 to 5.00 and Monday, Tuesday & Friday 11.00 to 4.00. The Cellar Door is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays so that Robert and Peggy can drink wine instead of selling it.
The Singing Lake Café is also open from Friday to Monday from 11.00
