What’s in season now?

|
Why should you eat seasonally when you can pretty much get the fruit or vegetable of your choice at any time of the year? Do we even know what is in season these days? It’s hard to tell when you can simply buy what you want when you want most days of year. One of the best things about eating seasonally and locally is that you get the best tasting, freshest food available – but there is more to it than that. Seasonal food is, or should be, cheaper. The reasons that seasonal food costs are down are the reasons that food quality is up. Harvested at during its season you should be getting fruit and veg that haven’t had time to lose their flavour or health benefits by sitting in a shipping container for a trip around the world. Who wants to eat 6 month old veg!!! Eat seasonally when you can! Here is a list of fruit and veg that will be at their peak during October and November.
